If this rockin' skeleton screengrab isn't enough to get you into the Hallowe'en spirit (bet you can't name the film--here's some hints: it's not a Hollywood film, it's not a horror film but has scary footage of Days of the Dead celebrations, and it was shot before the current film under study on this blog) here's some links to blogs that should coax you into a more terrifying mood for our favorite horrific holiday. . .
Can't decide what to watch between trips to the door to give out candy to all the little goblins? Fear not because scores of film bloggers have combined our dark powers at Shoot the Projectionist to unleash the 31 Flicks that Give You the Willies upon an unsuspecting world.
One of the many blogs I was happy to be introduced to during the Slapstick Blog-a-Thon was Pierre's Frankensteinia. I've been a regular over there ever since. If you're into Mary Shelley's gothic horror novel, the various comic book graphic novel adaptations, those Frank-themed action figures, or any of the dozens and dozens of chilling Frankenstein films then Frankensteinia has something for you.
What if Bram Stoker, author of Dracula, had been a blogger? I'm shocked by how well his novel about the famed bloodsucker fits the blog format. Feel the horror grow on you one post at a time at Dracula Blogged.
Rob has been busy wakening the undead all month over at The Projection Booth. Now they're everywhere! See what he and other bloggers have unearthed at the Thirty One Days of Zombie Blog-a-Thon.
Final Girl explores slasher flicks of the '70s and 80s (and more) with a big sly, mischievous grin. Who knew that horror could be this much fun? Well, I guess she did...
If that's still not enough to bring out the ghoul in you I've wandered through the boneyard here at Film of the Year and reanimated posts about such early nightmare films as Frankenstein (1931), The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari (1920), The Dying Swan (1917), A Fool There Was (1915) and Dante's Inferno (1911).
Now, if you'll excuse me, I see the sun is coming up and I must return to my crypt...oops, I mean, my room. hehehe.
Happy Hallowe'en to one and all!

Let me guess on the still... Que Viva Mexico?

Excellent! You got it on the first try, Jon. It's from Eisenstein's ¡Que Viva México! footage on the Unseen Cinema DVD set. I'm reading your analysis of the film right now.
